What Every Buyer/Seller Needs To Know About The Corona Virus. Changes are upon us in the Milwaukee real estate market and here are some commonsense tips for buyers and sellers of real estate in the Milwaukee county area. The corona virus has everyone trying to figure out the most sensible ways to protect themselves from potential harm when purchasing or selling a home. Hi, I’m Rich Barnes, owner-broker of Realty Experts in West Allis, Wisconsin and with over 20 years in real estate, I haven’t seen anything quite like this before. The National Association of Realtors just conducted a flash survey on March 9th and 10th, asking members questions about the corona virus outbreak. 78% said there has been no change in buyer interest due to the corona virus. 16% said interest has decreased due to the corona virus and nearly nine in 10 members, or 87%, said that corona virus has not affected the number of homes on the market. As a buyer, some commonsense tips would be, carry and use hand sanitizer when you’re looking at homes. Sanitize your hands upon entry in the home and definitely sanitize your hands upon exiting the home. I think a better option would be use surgical gloves when touring the home and dispose of them immediately upon exiting the home. And above all, keep your hands away from your face. You just plain don’t know who the owners are, where they’ve been, even if they wash their hands regularly, use hand sanitizer or because you just don’t know who the seller is. As a seller, it’s a bit trickier. You have to protect your family from all the people visiting your home. Nationwide nearly one in four sellers are changing how their homes are viewed while the home remains on the market due to the corona virus outbreak. According to a new survey from the National Association of Realtors, the changes include stopping open houses, requiring potential buyers to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer. Asking buyers to remove shoes or wear footies, or other changes. As a seller, you have no idea who’s entering your home, whether they’ve traveled, whether they wash their hands, even if they put out hand sanitizer, there’s no guarantee it’ll be used. That leaves you with the task of wiping down every potential surface that could’ve been touched by someone else touring your home. Here at Realty Experts, we practice digital marketing.
